☆📚~A Magickal Book-Blog Featuring A Free-Spirited & Custom Made Bibliophile ~🔮
Hey lovelies! So today I wanted to randomly talk about the love/hate relationship with my precious” To Be Read”(TBR) pile. I have probably 500 books in print and have probably 450 ebooks downloaded atleast that need to be read that I own. I know, I know I’m an bookaholic and can’t help myself. 😢 So I have all these titles I want to read like all NOW but I guess I’m a slow reader compared to most😢 Oh and what makes it worst is everyday there is new free ebooks to download, recomendations from my book family(which I love), requests, and oh damn the library is having a large fiction book sale everything 25 cents!!! That’s right 25 cents more books to molest and have. I’m not going to find that price again! Damn, Damn, Damn!
So my questions to my fellow book lovers:
How do you read faster?
How do you deal with your TBR pile?
I just want to absorb them all and its so hard, do I say no to the book sale and looking at Book Bub everyday for free downloads?
Please give me advice on how I can get this more organized in my crazy brain and any tips on faster reading loves?
Don’t get me wrong, don’t stop giving me recommendations and such! Just need advice! Like certain authors I have to read no matter what but there’s so many books so little time!!!
Thanks for any feedback I love you all in the mouth!
My advice would be horrible since I’m an extremely slow reader, haha. I’ve found that I enjoy my pace though. I try to limit my tbr list to indie books that need more reviews. Good or bad. Seems to work for me.

Oh Sheesh! I’m not sure how much help I’m going to be Dani. As you can tell I have an, er, book problem of my own! First, I’ve been meaning to tell you I love the added touches you’ve put on your blog!😊
Okay. TBRs. The bane of our existence right? Mine’s pretty out of control, and that’s with me reading 2-3 books at the same time! I try to keep mine somewhat organized. For example, there’s certain authors that I love, whose new books automatically get moved to the top of the list. Ones like Stephen King, Joe Hill, Darynda Jones, Nora Roberts/J.D. Robb… I honestly can’t tell you how huge my tbr is except to say that if I wrote down on paper it would at the very least, stretch several city blocks.
As far as library sales and Book Bub go, for me it’s all about the budget. My library has their annual sale every June and I go there with just $20. I don’t bring anymore than that so I won’t be tempted. With Book Bub, I average about 3-4 books a month. I try to pick books that I really wanted when they first came out, but couldn’t afford.
And finally, faster reading. You’ve got to read at the speed that’s most comfortable for you. If you try to go through books at a pace that’s not comfortable for you, it’s going to take some of the enjoyment away.
I’m sorry I wasn’t much help. And you’re going to kill me because now I have another book recommendation for you. I reviewed a book a couple of days ago called “What the Hell Did I Just Read”, by David Wong. It’s actually the third in a series, and the two previous books are: “John Dies At the End”
(there’s a movie adaptation which is good, but the book’s better), and “This Book Is Full of Spiders”. They’re horror mixed with absolutely insane comedy that I think you’d love! I mean, how can you resist flying sulfur-filled dildos?!😏

That was the best feed back I could get Kim. I’m definitely was already thinking 20$ max at library sale! And the book bub its they put these new ebooks out in different categories and I see all those free ones and as a bibliophile you know you think FREE?! I’m really good at not spending money too much on books kind of. I’m a sucker for free, yard sales and deals! The biggest problem is I have TBR anxiety I want to read all of them and I get overwhelmed at how much I have to read and feel its not fast enough. I’m pretty sure I just need to slow my roll and calm my tits and be happy that I have so many and eventually one day they will be read. Lol. And Kim I saw the review for that one and it totally looked like my kind of book its in the TBR pile too lol. Didi wrote on one of the comments that she was going to send us Maylee’s story!! I’m super excited about that one and it’s top of the list! Can’t wait! Sending you lots of hugs and I can’t believe I said Humps instead of hugs yesterday lol. #cabbagepatch #fistbumps #youreawesome #booksisters4ever #pottymouth #tbr #toomanybookstoolittletime #cantwait

Aww! You made my day! And I totally get tbr anxiety. Sadly, as bibliophiles, I think we just have to live with the fact that we’re always going to be adding books. Speaking of: I’m soon psyched for Didi’s new story! Eek!

Oh! And I’m sorry I forgot you already read the review. I had pre-scheduled a few of them to post, so if I’m not feeling well, I’m not feeling guilty for neglecting the blog. Anyway, I kind of lost track of things it seems.😕

Thanks Dani. I’ve been having a rough time lately. If my migraines are acting up, they make the fibro and neuropathy worse and vice versa. Ugh! I want to upgrade my body to a new model!😒

Not literal passing out more like falling asleep randomly. Im a master of sleeping standing up and sitting up! It seems I have a weird range of unique medical concerns but its okay my children are healthy and so far haven’t battled the same issues and I pray it stays that way!🤞🤞🤞🤗🤗🤗

I mostly look at mine and cry as I add even more to the pile. I had a silent arrangement with myself that I wouldn’t allow it to go over 500, and it’s currently at 511 (I just added the damning extra books this week). My current strategy (as it were) is to download samples of everything onto my Kindle (the ones available) and read them, deciding whether or not to keep or scrap. If I do the latter, then the book goes onto my passed-based-on-sample shelf. Sometimes I’ll pass on books I’ve added based on reviews from reviewers/bloggers I trust. In that way I can try to weed books out before I even read them if I know I won’t enjoy them.
I currently read seven books at a time. One physical fantasy/fiction (I mostly read fantasy, but I’m getting more into sci-fi and I’ll even pick up a plain old fiction book or two sometimes lol), one classic (e.g. Shakespeare, H.G. Wells, Mary Shelley, those type of authors), one reference (so something that’s non-fiction and informative like I just finished reading this book Incognito, which is about consciousness and the brain. I also have anything by Stephen Hawkins and Neil deGrasse Tyson on this list), two Kindles that are fantasy/fiction, since I can read a chapter from each at work on my lunch break, one graphic novel/manga, and one library book. Sometimes the reference, classic, and/or library book can be digital, which is what’s going on right now with the reference.
There’s really no way I’m NOT going to have something to read, AND I also write reviews of everything, which almost always turn into more essays/analyses, because that’s just the way my brain operates lol. I’m currently around 20 books behind in the review department, and I’ve finished over 50 books this year. I think I’ve just accepted the fact that I’m always going to have something to read and do. I also write my own stories lol AND I’m gamer AND I work a full time job :p

Hey what site do you use to down load your ebooks? Please help.

I download ebooks from the Kindle app on my kindle if you don’t have a tablet you can download them through the kindle app on a smartphone. There is free books in all kinds of categories you type what your looking for and then do the filter menu and go to relevance and put price low to high and then you will be able to see ones you can get for free. Also your local library will probably support a ebook app. Either Overdrive or RB Digital or something. You can call and ask them or go by your local library and they can help you set it up they have thousands ebooks you can check out for free audiobooks and magazines as well!!! Also once you get a kindle or whatever app you can go to Bookbub.com its a site that has a variety of free books listed on different apps like kindle or barnes and noble that are completeley free or very low costs. I just started doing ebooks and I have 400 free ebooks on my kindle app just from the last month and theres even best sellers and the library apps let you check out best sellers
