*Review: Mr. Penumbra’s 24 Hour Bookstore ~4.5*

Good morning lovelies! I just finished Mr. Penumbra’s 24 Hour Bookstore and loved it! I read this story because I was intrigued by it being about a bookstore and the powers that books can hold. I also saw several good reviews from fellow bilbliophile’s that I wanted to give it a shot!

Synopsis: Clay Jannon is struggling and left jobless after the Big Recession. While searching for a job he stumbles upon an odd looking bookstore. Clay is overqualified for this job but after meeting the mysterious owner Penumbra he finds himself inquiring about the job. After Clay gets adjusted into his graveyard shift at the 24 Hour Bookstore, he starts to realize customers are not buying anything. So he’s wondering “who is paying is salary and how?” Clay is visited by different eccentric characters that only come to borrow a book from the “restricted” area. Clay’s curiosity peaks with his boredom and he reveals to his friends and himself that there is strange things happening at Penumbra’s 24Hour Bookstore. Something that has been in the works for centuries. Clay and his friends wind up going through code cracking, book making, cyber, plane hopping, “thievery” and historical adventures.

Okay loves, so I loved this book, I give it 4.5 out of 5 stars. The only reason I’m not giving it a perfect 5 is because I felt a little left hanging on two of the main characters. I wanted more of an explanation of how things ended for them personally. Besides that, WOW anyone who loves books and adventure I would recommend this book to you. I love reading about the power of books and fellow book lovers. I don’t know many book lovers besides you lovely people so I really enjoyed reading about books in this adventurous way. This book made me proud to be a reader and it made me smile.
