“No one is born hating another person because the color of his skin or his background or his religion…
-Barack Obama
Last week or so I replied to a friend’s post and said exactly the same thing Mr. Obama has quoted. I never knew he quoted this so made me feel I said the right thing when someone responded that “we need hate to survive.” I respect all points of view but what Mr. Obama said is exactly how I believe.
No child is born hating someone based on gender, race, sexuality, disability and/or any other difference. What we say to our children and what we teach them affects them the rest of their lives!
I look to a day when people will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character.
-Martin Luther King Jr
Great quote and definitely true 😀

So true. This is exactly what I hope to teach children in the future as a teacher. I hope to guide them into the right direction.

I love how him and fellow ex presidents are also coming together to help the hurricane disasters! I miss him so much as a president! Such a kind and caring president!

I’m a fan of the band Disturbed, and they have a song called “Who Taught You How to Hate”. The lead singer wrote it after becoming a dad. It sums up exactly what you just posted.

100% True. It is through the socialisation process, and interaction with family, peers and institutions that a person learns racism, and discriminatory attitutdes.
