Hi there,
I’m Annie Woods, a Swedish author, who has spent a lot of time in the USA and UK.

Reading has always been a big part of my life. I’m especially addicted to YA and teen love stories. The books I read as a teenager have stuck with me through life and I still love YA books more than any other kind of literature.

YA books just have so much more to them, don’t you think? With all their intensity and all-consuming feelings; the first crush and the emotion of it all; the characters you get to know and love and who stay with you long after the story is over.

My own YA novel First Came Forever, which is the first book in the Angelheart Saga trilogy, has just been published. I am so nervous and excited about sharing the story with you all and to hear what you think about it. I also hope that you will get to love Erica, Sasha and Tyler just as much as I do. I have been living with them for years now that I actually think about them as real-life-persons, like old friends that I wish the very best for.

I also have to admit that Erica is pretty much based off of myself. I’ve always been a reader, a true bookworm who sometimes (too often) prefer books to people. Erica is just a tiny bit… oh, alright, A LOT… smarter and better looking and with way more integrity.

But, just like me, she’s clumsy (we both actually walk into walls, missing the door opening), a kind of bad driver, but a great runner finding peace and quiet and respite from all demands out in the woods with her running shoes on.

Just like Erica, I grew up in Stockholm, Sweden. But I’ve also spent a lot of time in USA, mostly in New York, and UK. I feel like I have two home towns – Stockholm and New York, but most of all home is where my family is. My family, yes, I am married and have two gorgeous children. And a dog.

I can also tell you that there are so many things I love, like music, theatre, dance, art, movies and books. Anything that brings magic to your life, really.

I also love traveling with my family and experiencing the world together and doing outdoor activities, like hiking, surfing or skiing. I’ve been hiking a lot in the Swedish mountains as well as in Yosemite in US and skied a lot in the Alps. I’ve also done some other exciting traveling, which you probably can tell from reading First Came Forever, for example through South Africa, Botswana, Zimbabwe and Mocambique. In Zimbabwe we stayed at in tents in the middle of nowhere, doing amazing walking safaris at sunrise, and in Botswana we did hippo safaris on the river. I also love Cambodia and Vietnam, which is quite obvious from the book… On the top of my bucket list I have walking the Inca trail to Machu Picchu, I hope to be able to do that very soon!

Also, I just want to tell you that Annie Woods is a pen name. I use it to keep my YA author life a bit separate from my other professional life. Kind of lame, I know. Sorry about that. The avatar I use as my photo resembles me so much though, that some of my friends might soon figure out that I’m behind Annie Woods… so it really feels like it’s me anyway.
