*~Book Review: Lucy’s Book Club for the Lost and Found~5 Stars~*

I want to thank NetGalley and Bookouture for providing me with an eARC in exchange for an honest review. I appreciate this opportunity.

First in the book club we have of course the sweet and generous Lucy who is the library’s temporary manager for the year. Lucy has been doing a great job of running the local library even with having issues with her co-workers and budget cuts. She is in her early twenties and is a very caring person who will go to great lengths to help everyone she can and we see this especially with the members of her little book club she takes pride in but what about Lucy herself and her hopes and dreams? Will she find love and stop for a moment to think about herself first before everyone else?

Next we have the mysterious Callum, he finds solace in the library away from his well known disastrous family who are nothing like him but everyone assumes that he is. He is highly educated in computers and takes comfort in helping the people that come in the library with their technological issues. He is shy and very unsure of himself. His family’s insults and antagonism have caused his very low self-esteem and lack of confidence. Through the library and especially Lucy and the book group they encourage Callum to gain confidence and help him realise his true talents and his potential. Can Callum realise his true worth and learn to love himself?

Lia, is a full time care taker og her mother who has dementia. It’s just the two of them and Lia is left with minimal support. Lia’s dad left them at a young age and Lia was left with all the responsibility put on her. She does not get out much or have time alone so Lucy’s small book club gets her out and able to meet with other people. Lia has a something she has always wanted that we find out which is dancing, adapted from her parents who were very talented as dancers when they were young and met. Lia beats herself up if she does anything for herself but with the encouragement from her new friends, will Lia be able to take that first step to discover who she really is and catch a glimpse of what her future may hold for her?

Hattie is a single mother who is trying to make ends meet for herself and her little daughter Poppy. She has been down and out since she caught her ex-fiancé having sex with another woman at their engagement party. Right after she left her ex she discovered she was pregnant. Since the engagement party Hattie and her mom have never been on good terms and Hattie does not know why. It eats away at Hattie the distance and tension they have suddenly. As Hattie’s sister is getting married there is no better time to start to try to mend bridges and find out why her mom blames her.

Finally we have the kind and a gently natured elderly man Oscar, whose wife since a teenager, Mary died a year ago. He is strickened with grief. His daily trips to the library gets him out of the house and he looks forward to his talks with Lucy and going to the book club. He attempts to search for his long lost daughter who was put up for adoption without his consent when he was a young man. Will Oscar find the strength to go through with finding his daughter after all these years or does his daughter even want to be found?

Together these broken people unite but are they able to be happy and live fulfilling lives? Read this book to find out!

Review: I give this book 5 out of 5 heartwarming stars! This book is just what the bibliotherapist ordered! Bookouture has never let me down with the books they publish and they made a good choice by picking Emma Davies and her book Lucy’s Book Club for the Lost and Found! I absolutely loved the characters in this story and I felt I could definitely relate to Lucy. I know what it’s like to conpletely do everything for others and not stop to do for yourself. I still haven’t figured that out. I am so glad I picked up this book and if your looking for a read that will give you all those warm and happy feels you crave, I highly recommend this book!😁💝📚
