I ordered this book via Amazon Kindle a couple months ago. All views and opinions are my own.
Book Blurb:
Mackenzie’s Distraction is a New Adult Romance about a young lady with a rough past and a promising future. Just when her career is within reach, tragedy strikes. A terrible accident and a family secret turn Mackenzie’s world upside down. She’s sure her life can’t become any more complicated, then she meets Trevor. Will he be just what she needs or the distraction that pushes her over the edge?
This book is not erotica, but does have sexual content. It includes some curse words, but not many. It doesn’t have any major violence
Review: I give this book 5 out of 5 Heartfelt Stars! From the very beginning of this book there was twists and tragedy. I loved the characterisation in this book and felt that I could really relate to Mackenzie in so many ways. This book shows you what can come out of tragedy and the pursue of young love.
I have been reading pieces of this book and when I got a lot of time on my hands I completely devoured it, even though I should be focusing on all of my ARCs! This story was what I needed while I am facing a crossroads in my life and could look back and see the hardships I survived. I felt like I could feel the author’s passion through the pages and it was a truly heartfelt experience.
I loved Angie Dokos’ style of writing and can’t wait to read her next adventure! I will hold Mackenzie and this book close to my heart and she won’t soon be forgotten!

From Ms. Dokos’ Goodreads’ page:
Five out five again huh? Sounds like you definitely had quite some good books over the past few days. While I’m not really sure if this is a read for me, I’m still glad that you enjoyed it so much and could relate to it as well. It’s wonderful when a movie or book manages to accomplish that. In fact it is a very rare quality that doesn’t happen very often 😊

Thanks so much Michel! Yes another 5 star for me! My rating system for 5 doesn’t mean that it’s completely flawless, I just have to absolutely love it and I definitely loved this book! I just knew what it was like to face tragedy and battle your demons along with new love. I have so many ARCs I’m supposed to be reading but I have been squeezing this in here and there because it was just one I ordered a while back so there wasn’t much to finish this weekend but I did manage to squeeze in more books and to be honest I am pretty behind in reviews!!!:0 Also as I always say, You Rock!!!

I don’t think anything exists that is completely flawless. No matter how much you like something there usually also is at least a minor negative point to be found as well. I’m glad you found this one so relatable and enjoyed it so much. As for running behind on things, haha: that is something I can relate to as well lol. Oh well, that just means there is a lot to look forward to as well 😀😀And you Rock too! 😊

Thank you so much. I am so glad you enjoyed it. I love when I feel like I have a bond with characters; I feel awesome that I wrote that type of character for someone else. Thank you for boosting my confidence as a writer today. 🙂

I have posted one Lashaan!!! I have actually posted a few! I posted one a few days ago that I gave a 2 star rating! I am still always friendly when I do a negative review and it really eats away at me! I was actually about to put a post up about my rating system even though it’s late in the game. A 5 for me doesn’t mean its flawless, it just means I absolutely loved it! I know everyone has there different rating systems. I think Trang’s ratings are funny! How she will go to 3.78!!!! She’s so awesome and hilarious! I mean what exactly got that .08? Anywho, I do post negative reviews and I absolutely hate when I have to! I actually have a book I am working on now that is going to be a lower one! This book I read quickly and wasn’t even a request or ARC so I just did it because I wanted to. Now I am rambling on. Lol. Thanks so much for your feedback as always Lashaan! You rock!

Ramble away, Dani! I always enjoy when people just start pouring out their thoughts in buckets like that. 😀 And yep, Trang’s review scale is hilarious! She used to stick to the star and half star rating, we even have a page for it somewhere, but then she realized that it didn’t fit certain books properly so she goes with these gut feeling ratings that are just perfectly translate her reviews somehow hahahah 😀 I do remember your lower rating reviews, but somehow you still manage to stay super positive!!! 😛 I want to see what an angry Dani is like!!! I guess it’s just not in your nature to be angry. 😉 Good ol’ Dani. You’re awesome. 😀

I know it’s so hard for me to be negative!!😟😟 Even when I write negative reviews I try to find a way to look at things at a more positive angle. I did get really angry and rant at WordPress. Lol 😂 You’re awesome!😊
