Reads & Reels Blog Tours Book Review: Follow the Snowflakes

I want to thank Reads & Reels and Angelina Kerner for providing me with an eARC in exchange for an honest review. I appreciate this opportunity. All views and opinions expressed are my own.

Book Blurb:

At 28, it’s bad to be single. After four years of relationship struggles, Cat is ready to try anything.

That’s when her friend tells her about her class’ Dear Santa letters. One little boy asked for a new mommy, and she suggests Cat meets the kid’s dad, just to see where things go. Cat figures it can’t hurt…until she meets a stranger in the midst of a car accident. The man is handsome with a sad look in his eyes. He still wears a wedding band and she’s not sure his heart’s available, even if he makes her heart race. But, maybe he’s a widower? Cat wonders if she should resign herself to being an old maid, or whether she could possibly be the answer to a little boy’s Christmas wish, unless there’s a third option – a future with the stranger.

Review: I give this book 5 out of 5 heartwarming holiday stars! I am so thankful that Reads & Reels reached out to me regarding this holiday novella! I have been in this wicked slump lately and haven’t been in the Christmas spirit at all and have been rather depressed being stuck in bed with health concerns. Reading this novella certainly was what the doctor ordered! While reading Follow the Snowflakes, I felt my heart instantly warm and all that I could focus on was wanting more. I fell in love with the characters in this book and felt that I could relate to Cat and Regina! If you love Hallmark movies, I highly recommend this sweet novella! Angelina Kerner took her passion and dreams and created a holiday romance masterpiece. I was a little nervous about reading this novella because I follow Angelina on WordPress and she is a fellow blogger but from page one she put my worries at bay! YAY!💖❄ Also I enjoyed her shoutout to all fellow WordPress bloggers in her dedication! Woot, Woot! This book was also open minded and fun. The story was open minded towards the LGBT+ community and also had a fun Christmas party scene!

Okay, so the party wasn’t like this but I had to add this GIF. Lol. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this book and it helped me get out of this nasty slump I was in. I even enjoyed that it was a short novella! I love novellas because you can hit it and quit it! Wam bam, thank you ma’am! Some novellas the author just can’t pull it off, but in this story that is clearly not the case! I know I am rambling a bit lovelies, but I truly want to share my joy of this holiday family oriented novella! I felt like I was inside of a Hallmark movie and this book gave me hope for brighter days! I hope everyone has a fantastic week and a lovely holiday season! Oh and one more thing, I loved how open minded this book was with different religious and spiritual beliefs! The main character even celebrated a Pagan holiday. I am an open minded Christian but love diversity and open minded characters! Thanks Ms. Kerner for a remarkable experience that I won’t soon forget!

Angelina Kerner’s writing career started at a young age when she discovered that her creativity could be channeled through a bit of ink and paper.

She moved around during her younger years from Novosibirsk and Kaluga Russia to finally settle in the San Francisco Bay Area, California. This startling contrast between the fierce snow of Siberia and the bright sun of the American West is a crucial source of inspiration and humility: the forces of people is to be found not only in their spirits, but in their land too.

Angelina’s curiosity in the human condition led her to pursue courses in psychology and blossomed into a master’s degree in Topographical science. It was with a burning fire that she rejected the status quo offered to her generation, and after many meaningless jobs, she decided that writing could be the canvas in which she could express this dichotomy. While working full time behind counters and registers, she persisted in supporting her family, her full-time coursework, and her creative dreams.

She dared to believe in her talents, and most importantly, in her ability to make a real mark on this world.

Like any creative soul, there was time for doubts, self-loathing, and loneliness, but never fear. She worked on countless experimental narratives, universes, genres, until her voice crystallized into her first published narrative. She is now the author of Deity’s Soulmate and Seven Hours: Challenge Accepted. Her next project involves a competition for a beautiful phoenix. Angelina currently divides her time between her family, work, writing, lots of cats, and two celestial dragons.

    • Yay!🙌🙌🙌💜💜💜 I’m glad you liked it! I was scared it was all mismatch and I messed it up! I got bored and restless one night so decided to prettify my blog! I am over the moon that I have received so much positive feedback! *happy dance* Thanks so much again for hooking me up with this novella! I just loved it!😍

    • No ma’am, I am not self hosted. After fighting with them all day one of the people said after I paid for self hosting that I had enough original content which confused me more! So I had to go and get a refund and have to wait a week! Self hosting costs lik 100$ and I would lose all my stats and traffic! I still just have no idea on what to do! Some of my followers are losing their pages but I got to keep mine for now. I am just lost. I definitely am going to hold on to all the emails. I have no idea why they just cut off people’s pages without even giving them a notice! I am scared to share my promotions but at the same time people sell things all the time! Why can’t I share giveaways, reviews and blitzes! I didn’t understand because they highlighted the trailer and a review I shared from R&R! It makes no sense. I tried to investigate it more but all the terms and shit got me all confused and I’m in too much pain for that. #nobodygottimeforthat! But really, I would be beyond devastated if I lost my blog. I am bed ridden and this is my place for friendship and exploring. Also their customer service/”Hapiness Engineers” are asshats!!!

      • That’s just terrible! I’m just happy you got your stuff back. I’m sure they have bots that randomly search for key words and that’s what happened. Then of course it takes eons for actual human beings to investigate. Ugh! Just sorry you had to go through that.

          • Honestly, it has me nervous and I already pay a ton for a premium plan. In theory you should be able to switch over without losing your followers but of course you have to pay for a redirection notice that appears whenever someone goes to your old address. A lot of bloggers keep their original and post excerpts only with links to their self-hosted sites. A way if getting around extra fees I guess

            • They said it would be an extra cost per a month for redirecting. All together it looked about 160$ the plan I was looking at. I don’t even need premium or personal but it was a birthday gift to get personal because of wanted my own domain because it would be really long if not. I just don’t understand out of all people, why book bloggers? Self hosting is also way more confusing and you have to put so much more work in it and I woulf be devastated if I lost my theme and everything. I am just so lost on what to do. Should I not do blitzes? My future ones I edited them a little so they are more personally more mine but what is so wrong with sharing a giveaway??? I like sharing about new books and giveaways! I also like reading them on fellow bloggers’ sites!😕

    • Lmao. I get asked this question frequently. Well, I am mostly bed ridden and disabled so that gives me a good bit of free time. I also get help with the kids from my partners. I read and blog throughout the day when I can. I don’t have outside friendships or spend time with other relatives because of being disabled and they have better stuff to do. So this is my only social outlet sweetheart. I also battle an agorophobia so I can go a month without leaving my house. I only leave for drs appointments unfortunately. I plan the kids going on adventures different ways. I also have a sleep disorder. Lol.

  2. Hey: you are not rambling at all. I love it when you get enthusiastic over a book: it only makes the reviews even better than they already are. It really pains me that you have had such a rough time lately, but I’m very glad to read that a book like this made you feel somewhat better. Isn’t it just awesome that a book can do that? Only the great ones can make that happen 😀 Terrific review from an awesome lady! 😀

    • Awww thanks so much sweetheart!😍 You are the bee’s knees!😊 I’m a tough cookie and I will make it through this!!!🙌🙌🙌 This book was super sweet for the holiday season! I love how a book can help me escape my current reality! It’s actually 3am where I’m at right now and am super restless so going to try and read some more! They are ARCs from the publishers that I really need to do because the publication date passed!😱😱😱 My schedule is so far behind and I am behind on reviews. I’ve been a slacker but in my defense I have been pretty sick!😩 Thanks so much though for always being supportive!😊

      • Ugh, you are not a slacker, really thatwill so not true. After all the crap you went through the past few days, it’s amazing that you are here at all, much less manage to write great comments and reviews. Seriously no need to worry. I’m sure it will all work out eventually again. Just take your time! 😀 And definitely: you are a tough cookie: that’s one of the things that I really admire in you 😊😊I’m glad books are able to let us escape reality: it’s so nice at times to be able to do that 😊 Take care, and like I said, no worries, you will catch up in no time 😊
