Title: Better Dead (A B & B Spirits Mystery #1)

Author: Pamela Kopfler

โ˜†~Available For Sale Today~โ˜†

As the owner of a charming Louisiana bed and breakfast, Holly Davis believes in Southern hospitality–but she draws the line at welcoming the ghost of her cheating husband . . .

Burl Davis checked out of this life a little earlier than expected–before Holly could serve him with divorce papers over his extramarital flings. Unfortunately, it was not before he nearly bankrupted her beloved B&B, Holly Grove, a converted plantation that has been in her family for generations. Holly would never wish anyone dead, but three months later she’s feeling a lot more relief than grief.
Until Burl’s ghost appears as an unwelcome guest. Before his spirit can move on, her not-so-dearly departed needs Holly’s human help to bust up the drug smuggling ring he was involved with. She has reservations, to say the least, but agrees to assist him if he’ll make a show of haunting the B&B to draw in visitors. But when Holly’s former love, Jack McCann, mysteriously resurfaces in town and checks in, she has to wonder if her B&B is big enough for the ghost of her husband and the very real physical presence of her old flame . . .

I give this book 5 out of 5 Fun-tastic Stars! Like most books I have read that have been published by Kensington Books this one was just awesome! I am so excited to see this author’s future works and just loved how fun and well written this book was. The author first pulled me into this book by the sweet and charming setting of a plantation B & B in Louisiana. There was even parts that described the different uses of different rooms and parts of the family owned plantation. The fictional history was fun and enticing. The plot of this story was solid and flowed perfectly together. I loved the characterisation in this book. Holly was a hot mess at times but so funny and relatable.

Her relationship and interactions with Burl were absolutely hilarious.

Even though he was a ghost it felt like a realistic relationship. Jake and Holly’s romance was sweet. I know the blurb says Jack but his name was Jake. That’s the only error and that was in the blurb so I don’t think that counts!๐Ÿ˜‰ Nelda was my favorite! She was Laugh Out Loud hilarious. Her personality was original and just made Holly Grove that much better! Her reactions to Burl was just too funny!

The book focused more on the mystery of the story and the paranormal aspects.

This story surprised me when it kind of turned into a whodunit mystery and I just love a good whodunit. I mean a whodunit on a plantation and some supernatural fun involved! Heck yes!

Overall I couldn’t recommend this book enough if you’re looking for something fun or a nice cozy to cuddle up with this is the book for you. Better Dead had everything I was looking for plus more and can’t wait to find out what happens next!!!๐Ÿ˜„

Title: Escape Claws (A Cat Lady Mystery #1)

Author: Linda Reilly

โ˜†~Available For Sale Today~โ˜†

Here, killer, killer, killer . . .

For the first time in sixteen years, Lara Caphart has returned to her hometown of Whisker Jog, New Hampshire. She wants to reconnect with her estranged Aunt Fran, whoโ€™s having some difficulty looking after herselfโ€”and her eleven cats. Taking care of a clowder of kitties is easy, but keeping Fran from being harassed by local bully Theo Barnes is hard. The wealthy builder has his sights set on Franโ€™s property, and is determined to make her an offer she doesnโ€™t dare refuse.

Then Lara spots a blue-eyed ragdoll cat that she swears is the reincarnation of her beloved Blue, her childhood pet. Pursuing the feline to the edge of Franโ€™s yard, she stumbles upon the body of Theo Barnes, clearly a victim of foul play. To get her and Fran off the suspect list, Lara finds herself following the catโ€™s clues in search of a killer. Is Blueโ€™s ghost really trying to help her solve a murder, or has Lara inhaled too much catnip?

I give this book 5 out of 5 Purrrrfect Stars!!! I just adored this book!๐Ÿ˜„ The author did such a great job fullfilling my “crazy cat lady” needs!

Well I love all animals but have 5 cats 1 dog and 2 turtles so reading this book was blissful! Since I have rescued and foster animals this book really pulled at the strings of my heart.

This wasn’t your typical cozy mystery that has the sweet romance subplot while we figure out who killed the victim. This boon more focused on family, finding yourself and the love of the feline friends.

I really enjoyed Lara and Aunt Fran’s characterisation. I loved there genuine good souls and their love for animals.

I could relate to Lara in a sense and felt she was a good choice for a main character. I also really enjoyed that there was a bit of supernatural aspects thrown in the story.

The cats’ different personalities were great and I know from experience that cats and other animals do have their own personalities. If you are a feline lover or looking for a nice cozy I highly recommend this book and I can’t wait to see what happens in the next Cat Lady Mystery series!

I hope everyone had a joyous holiday and their Christmas was filled with joy!๐Ÿ˜„๐ŸŽ„๐ŸŽ๐Ÿค— I was sick yesterday but gobbled up these two cozies and it made my day much better!!! I hope everyone is enjoying their week and Happy Reading lovelies!๐Ÿ˜„๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿ’–๐ŸŽŠ๐ŸŽโ„โ˜ƒ๐Ÿ•Ž

  4. Cozy books are not for me, but if they made you feel better, then that’s great. The kitten and the chicks was great!
Our grandson got a tiny kitten for Christmas, and we played with it on the 25th.
