Life is looking rosy for Florrie Fox, manager of the Color Me Read bookstore in Georgetown, Washington D.C. She’s working on an adult coloring book of gardens, her romance with Sergeant Eric Jonquille has entered a new chapter, and the bookstore’s weekly coloring club is a source of friendship and entertainment. No member is more vibrant than Dolly Cavanaugh. Dolly likes to say she was blessed with beauty and cursed with lousy husbands, but at least she has a grown daughter and a stunning brownstone to show for it!

When Dolly’s love of garage sales results in her showing up at Color Me Read with a rare book in hand, Florrie is astounded. The Florist, the earliest known coloring book, was first published in 1760. An original copy would be worth a fortune—and someone else knows it. That same evening, Florrie finds Dolly dead on the floor of her apartment, a corner of a coloring book page clutched in her hand. As Florrie delves into Dolly’s past and her personal effects, she discovers a skeleton in the closet—literally—and a whole lot of shady suspects. One of them is an expert in the fine art of murder, but can Florrie draw the right conclusion?

This was another fun cozy murder mystery by Krista Davis! I absolutely loved the first book in this series and this one was really good as well. With a large amount of sequels we find it not as exhilarating as the first and this was the case with this novel but I would still recommend this book and am excited to see what the author comes out with next!

Small-town life in Hazel Rock becomes a Texas-size crime scene when murder takes a page from Charli Rae Warren’s book club’s latest mystery . . .

Charli takes great pride in running one of the few independent, family-owned bookstores in
small-town Texas. She vets everything carefully, with an eye to the eclectic tastes of the locals. That includes the Book Barn’s weekly book club selection. This time out it’s a mystery whose characters bear a striking resemblance to local citizens, including Charli’s friend Sugar . . . who’s the prime suspect when her real-life nemesis is found dead in a hotel’s water tank.

With help from her pet armadillo Princess, Charli campaigns to clear Sugar’s sweet name—literally—when the up-for-election mayor becomes a killer’s next target. Murder and politics make scandalous bedfellows as Charli discovers that fiction may be fatal, but reality could be just as deadly . . .

“A well written, fast-paced cozy mystery that has well developed and likable characters with good humor and a bit of romance.” —Fresh Fiction on Perilous Poetry

“An electrifying tale.”—Fresh Fiction on A Reference to Murder

A Bookish Barn Bookshop, heck yes! I absolutely loved this series. Even though I started out not reading the first in the series, I have easily have became a fangirl of the series. The characters were fantastic and diverse. The plot was well written and most of all, it was FUN!

For the Bradshaw brothers, coming back to their hometown is the last thing they wanted. But to cope with family tragedy, they’re reuniting in Benevolence, Washington—a place of hope, caring, and ever-surprising love . . .

It’s ex-Navy SEAL Porter Bradshaw’s toughest challenge ever—six grieving nieces and nephews. With his brother, Matthias, killed in a car crash, and his sister-in-law, Sunday, hospitalized, Porter must take his turn looking after their children and the ancestral farm. He doesn’t know much about parenting.  Still, Porter is used to going it alone professionally—and personally. But warm-hearted teacher Clementine Warren is a complication he can’t resist . . .

For Clementine, Benevolence is where her hopes for a real home and family crashed and burned. But as Sunday’s friend and former neighbor, she promised to always be there for the children. And as she and Porter work to comfort the young Bradshaws, his sense of duty and passionate commitment are rekindling more than Clementine’s dreams. Now with trouble coming, she’ll face down her fears to prove to Porter, and herself, that together they can make a future full of love . . .

Praise for Shirlee McCoy’s Sweet Haven

“Fans of Debbie Macomber will appreciate McCoy’s sweet, funny, heartwarming
romance with its friendly, small-town setting.”
 —Booklist (starred review)

“A delicious small‑town treat.” —Library Journal

Another swoon worthy romance from the Bradshaw series! I absolutely love this author’s work and how she intertwines so much depth with realistic characters into a beautiful romance. Romances are not my top favorite genre but I still enjoy them from time to time and when I do Shirlee McCoy’s writings are at the top of my TBR list!
