On a drizzly August morning, the inhabitants of the hill town of Sanover, Himachal Pradesh, wake up to the shocking news of the murder of the exquisite, secretive, malicious, and thoroughly immoral Devika Singh.

As Superintendent of Police Vishwanath Sharma begins to sift through the hidden secrets of Devika Singh’s life, it becomes evident that everyone who knew her seems to have a clear-cut motive for killing her.

Faced with the investigation of a crime that appears to have as many suspects as there are motives, Vishwanath Sharma probes the sinister web spun around a tangle of lies and deception.

Thoughts and Quotes

Praise for Tied to Deceit:

“A remarkable whodunit that’s as sharp as it is concise.

Brar enhances her taut murder mystery with an engaging setting that effectively incorporates the local culture. The smart, believable denouement will have readers looking forward to Brar’s next endeavor.”

Kirkus Reviews

“A literary mystery saga that includes far more depth and psychological and cultural insights than your typical murder mystery’s scenario.”

A SHORT EXCERPT FROM TIED TO DECEIT:

Dr. Rajinder Bhardwaj, the owner and the head physician at Lifeline Hospital, Sanover, had showered after his brisk morning walk and joined his wife for an early morning tea. Gayatri Bhardwaj sat with her second cup of ginger tea on her favourite old, worn, woven chair on the verandah which overlooked their front garden: a tapestry of blooming carnations, marigolds, roses, and chrysanthemums. She longed for a clear, bright day and the dazzling blue sky of summer.

It was her favourite spot to sit in the mornings; a place from where she could witness the brilliant dawn streaking half of the sky coral; raindrops soaking everything wet during the monsoon; specks of silvery snow falling from the sky during winter. She could take in everything from the serene mountain peaks and the forest to their house—its roof, windowpanes, and the pebbled driveway that snaked its way criss-cross toward the outside big iron gate. She would sit there until Dr. Bhardwaj joined her after his daily ritual of a brisk morning walk.

They had done this for years despite the changing seasons and the changing equation of their marital relationship. They had spent endless mornings of their initial married years there, when their hearts were still giddy with the feeling of young love, and they would talk about everything and nothing. She’d been a bride at barely twenty, young and naive. He’d been ten years her senior, already on the way to

establishing himself as a successful physician, the younger son of a landlord aristocratic family with old wealth. He had swept her off her feet then, and was all charm and charisma but then the magic slowly diminished and finally died due to his secret betrayals over time. Thousands of little resentments had replaced the early warmth. But their hearts, although heavy with bitterness and anger at the failed expectations, had gotten used to the solace of each other’s company that often comes with years of living together, and they never stopped performing this morning ritual of their married life.

I loved this book and was surprised to read that this was a debut from the author. I am so thankful that my friend Shalini shared and recommended this book to me because she was right, it was quite the thriller! When reading this novel at certain points I wasn’t sure who was doing what and I have been pretty good with reading mysteries lately and figuring it all out ahead of time. For me, this novel was a great page turner and I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves a good whodunit!

Happy Kind Of Bloggy Birthday To Me! Yay!

So this number is what popped in my notifications at 11pm?! Like what??? You wait until the last minutes of the dag to congratulate me. Well shit on that.

Well to be honest, it took me some time after registration to even post a post of sorts due to technical problems *sighs* but I got it straight. So to be honest, I am just going to call it a year I have been blogging because I have no idea what day to celebrate and I am going by WordPress’s little note of joy so YAY!!!🎊🎆🤗

I am so glad I started blogging not only because of the joy of books but because honestly I couldn’t have made it through this year without the joy of interacting with you guys. You all are the cheese to my macaroni and this chick has never met more phenomenal people ever!

As I think about on my year of blogging, I have realized that I can open up to this public forum more than a therapist or loved ones and no one ever makes me feel bad for being crazy old me. As a new blogger, I must admit it was exhausting and it took so much time and effort but all of it was worth it. This is the time where I would mention all the people damn, theres so many to name! that stand out and have made a big difference such as Kim, Pete, Carrie, Fraggle(Waffles), sweet Michel, Trang & Lashaan, Stephanie, BiblioNylan, Robbie, Jay, Didi, Kay, Inge, Nina, Jaynie, Sophie, Angelina, Nicole, Kristi, my friends that have more than one of themselves, my friends who write about sexiness, my friends who take such beautiful photos that I am able to travel through their art, my artists friends, my friends with TBRs that will never end but insist on adding books to them and damnit my list could go on forever so please forgive me if you weren’t named. I am sleep deprived, catching up and kicking ass as usual and damn did I ramble the fuck on or what?! But overall I just want to say that blogging was the best decision I ever made.

I love the fucking books. I love you guys even more and damn do I love the blogosphere even though WP has been against me. I will continue to try seven different times to comment on your blog posts!!! Mwhahaha! You guys are the bee’s knees and thank you for help giving me one of the best years of my life. Also cheers to WP 🍻🍻, May you take me out of spam folders, stop judging me, and fix my errors! *Hallelujah*

Why not end this with some laughter?! I hope you guys have a great freakin day. Love y’all in the mouths! Xoxoxo!

Book Review: Destined by Gail Cleare

From my #bookstagram @bookishdani

I want to thank the author for providing me an eARC in exchange for an honest reviews. All opinions expressed are my own.

This is the year Emily learns how to deliberately shape the future. She gets the courage to walk away from her safe routine and takes a job at the fabulous curio shop owned by Henry Paradis, an occult scholar. Recognizing her psychic talents as the valuable gifts they are, Henry teaches Emily to accept her magical nature and “look forward.” She chooses the path to light, finds lifelong friends, falls in love with an incredibly sexy man, learns the power of desire and intention, faces her worst fears and is swept toward awakening.

The mystical images of the Tarot’s archetypal trump cards chart the way, 22 sequential steps along the path to success known as “The Fool’s Journey.” Illustrated by images from the Payen Tarot of Marseilles (1713), which is the oldest surviving Tarot deck.

Reviews Quoted from Popular Sources!

“Cleare’s narrative follows Emily, a young woman on a path of self-realization and awakening…The novel is well plotted…offers a little bit of self-help and a little bit of chick lit, packaged together with a positive, make-your-own-destiny message: a pleasant, comforting read.” – Publishers Weekly

“A thoughtful and much recommended novel of tarot. Through the unknown, we can find something magnificent. “Destined” tells the story of Emily, who takes a job at a curio shop and delves into the occult and mystery. A novel of romance and the life of the occult and the tarot, it’s a fascinating break into this culture and the belief in mysticism.” – Midwest Book Review

This book was fantastic! I know you might be thrown off a little by all the Tarot stuff but it’s not all about Tarot. It’s about a girl who goes through a new journey and experiences everything that the Major Arcana of the Tarot can explain. I love how the chapters are titled after the Major Arcana of the Tarot and she surely goes through her share of experiences. There is so much more to the main characters then what first meets the eyes. Sure she works in a bookstore and it has a swoon worthy romance but it also has depth and I was able to finish it within a day. I loved this novel and it was a treat to read and I can’t wait to read the author’s other works. Highly recommended!😁📚❤

Synopsis A continuation of USA TODAY bestselling author Leonard Goldberg’s The Daughter of Sherlock Holmes, A Study in Treason is a new intriguing locked room mystery for Joanna and the Watsons to solve.

The following case has not previously been disclosed to the public due to the sensitive information on foreign affairs. All those involved were previously bound by the Official Secrets Act. With the passage of time and the onset of the Great War, these impediments have been removed and the story can now be safely told.A Study in Treason (The Daughter of Sherlock Holmes Mystery #2)

When an executed original of a secret treaty between England and France, known as the French Treaty, is stolen from the country estate of Lord Halifax, Scotland Yard asks Joanna, Dr. John Watson, Jr., and Dr. John Watson, Sr. to use their keen detective skills to participate in the hunt for the missing treaty. As the government becomes more restless to find the missing document and traditional investigative means fail to turn up the culprit, Joanna is forced to devise a clever plan to trap the thief and recover the missing treaty.

Told from the point of view of Dr. John Watson, Jr. in a style similar to the original Sherlock Holmes stories, A Study in Treason is based partly on facts in our world and partly on the facts left to us by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.

Full of excitement and intrigue, this mystery is sure to be enjoyed by fans of Sherlock Holmes as well as the works of Laurie R. King and Charles Finch.

Book ReviewWow, I absolutely just love this series now!😍 Well I just read this book which is the second one but I fell in love and it has all the awesome Sherlock Holmes Feels! I was so excited when I received an email alerting me that I was granted a wish from the publishers! St. Martin’s Press, you guys rock!😉💜📚
This story captivated my heart because Joanna is just like her father, Sherlock. I also loved the aspect of having Dr. Watson and his son part of the team as well. They make a great team and had me guessing from the very beginning how things would conclude. The characters were fantastic in my opinion and I can’t wait to read the first in the series now! The mystery was solid and I thought I could use my skills for this book after figuring out Ruth Ware’s latest novel from the beginning chapters but I have to admit that the ending surprised me and there was quite the twists that I won’t soon forget. I read this novel within a day and was scrolling through pages as fast as I possibly could. I definitely recommend this book to Sherlock fans and mystery lovers alike!

Matt is the only person Anna has ever wanted to be close to. But how can she go on a date with him if the thought of dinner at a restaurant fills her with terror? How can she ever kiss the man she loves if she can’t even touch him?

Maybe it’s time to stop being Crazy Anna. If only she could.

My Thoughts_1

I was CRAZY about this book! At first I was unsure how I felt about the characterization, especially with Matt. I’m going to be honest, I thought he was a PIG! I mean he rated girls by numbers but this was just at first sight and there was so much more depth to this story and his character than I could ever expect. The author delivers a twist with the characters that was completely unexpected but made this love story more unique and beautiful that warmed my heart and wrenched it at the same time. Anna’s character was so easy to relate to;. Everyone just disregarded her as “Crazy Anna”, but there was so much more to her story that will captivate you and keep the readers’ glued to the screen or pages or whatever have you, I have battled a Crazy in Love (Matt & Anna, #1)severe mental illness my whole life and I could completely relate to Anna’s emotions and her characterization. The author describes the symptoms and effects of her mental illness perfectly. I actually have been disappointed by a lot of romances that I have read lately but this one went above and beyond. The story gave me a whirlwind of emotions plus delivered a twist that made the story hold more depth than the average love story. I wish that the author went a little bit more into Anna’s past to explain what set her off but I know there is a sequel and I just can’t wait I had happy tears at the end of this story and was completely attached to both of the main characters. Matt and Anna are fantastic characters and their story shows how hard life can be but how we can find beauty in the dark places.

Book Review

I absolutely loved this book just like the first in the series!!!😍 I totally #fangirl over this series! Not only do I just love Charlene’s never-ending humorous behavior! I am totally jealous that a woman in her 70-80s can have that much fun sleuthing around and I can’t! Man, responsibilities!😤 This was a great mystery, had a good plot and I wasn’t expecting the ending! I love this series because there is no insta-love or anything like that just fun and sleuthing. I highly recommend this series!

Being Who I Am And Giving Less Fucks

If you are bothered by cussing, I am sorry and I am also sorry that there is some of my history of abuse in this particular post. I never try to write anything that offends anyone or makes them feel uncomfortable so if abuse or cursing makes you uncomfortable than this may not be the post for you.💖

“Nobody can make you feel inferior without your permission.”

-Eleanor Roosevelt

This last month has been a rough one and can say that it was a new kind of rock bottom for me. Lately I have been all gloom and doom and even though I know my situations warrant it, I shouldn’t allow it to let me fall apart. What has me broken up as of this week has been others’ opinions and words about me.

I know I shouldn’t give two fucks about what other people think of me but the truth of the matter is I give more than two fucks, I give as many fucks as possible. This has been an issue for me since a very young age. From the years before puberty, I believed that everything was my fault and I couldn’t forgive myself. I forgave everyone around me but I couldn’t forgive me. I never understood why I was this way and people took advantage of this gift/weakness my whole life. Before even becoming a teenager, I saw things that now when I look back at it, I wonder how in the hell did I even survive? How was I able to make it through the torture and violence? But most of all, how was and is it possible that the only person I ever hated was myself? From seeing my best friend and my first love die in front of me at age 14 to dying a few times under the age of 10 because of a request of one of my stepfather’s “customers, to not getting justice from all the torture I endured as a child because of stupid laws that the U.S. Government has that protects predators because the victim can’t speak due to trauma to being prosecuted in my 20s because I was desperate to do anything to get away from my abuser because the authorities said it would take 6 months to even process DNA to giving birth to a beautiful child that saved my life but knowing she was created from date rape, to now knowing my children have been hurt sexually by another child and facing chemotherapy medication and all that bullshit. I mean, I can go on for days here but that’s not the point of this post. The point is I have seen my fair share of Hell on Earth and I know we all go through shit. I know there are people that have it worse than me out there and that breaks my heart as well but it still doesn’t solve the question that I have been asking for years, why can’t I hate? Why is the only reason I know what hate is is because I hate myself and that is all? I can’t for the life of me figure it out and know that it’s my biggest weakness yet my greatest gift. I hated myself for the longest time for not knowing why I can’t hate others. I sometimes can’t understand why I have prayed for those whom have hurt and tortured me. I prayed for them to get their karma, yes. But I also prayed that they would get help and wouldn’t hurt someone else. There’s things that I have seen and have been through that I can’t even mention in this blog because of it being too much and too raw for me or others to handle. Still the same question remains, why is there only love for others in my heart?

“History, despite its wrenching pain, cannot be unlived, but if faced with courage, need not be loved again.”

– Maya Angelou

So now I am taking us back to the beginning of this post, how have other’s words have hurt me so bad, at least this time? Well 2 days ago, I was discriminated against twice within 1 hour for being a spiritualist. First I was told that because it was related to Books & Writing that it wasn’t allowed in an online community. When I was told that it wasn’t allowed and saw that other’s even the leaders posted things other stuff that wasn’t books or writing I wrote back to the leader of this group that took down all my posts and in return she was rude and even though I told her my cards were with books and I apologized about some other guidelines I didn’t know about she treated me like utter shit. I kept saying ma’am and she was rude and disrespectful because of my views and to tell you a story about yourself or the querent because of my dyslexia and Meneires Disease, I use images at times to read. Even when you go to a Tarot place it’s called getting a reading because with Tarot & Oracle it’s all about using your intuition(or gut as some refer to it as) to look into the images and see what message the image is telling your intuition at that time. Tarot & Oracle cards even have ISBNs and I use them for creative writing purposes as well just like many other writers do. I said all of this in a respectful manner but was told I would be banned. So she can talk about baking and other people can have photos with their books with different objects but anything about Tarot was off limits.
To make this situation worse after talking to this lovely woman, I go on Goodreads and I have an unread message from someone that I never talked to before that says if I were you, I would stay away from those crystals and stones and cards because they will send you to hell or whatever. So I respond saying thanks for that knowledge and I will assume that he is a well read man because he’s on Goodreads that he understands many beliefs use different types of tools to get closer to their faith or just making themselves better people and that’s what I am getting to with this, what is so wrong with someone doing something that makes anyone be a better person or strive to be. Even Catholics use rosaries and atheist go to therapist or doctors. What’s wrong with doing anything to make you a better human being?

I just became more spiritual recently and it’s what has saved me. Along with this community, my recent newfound spirituality(not my first time) is what gave me the strength to start seeing my love for others a gift, what gave me the strength to move on and live and love life again because I am mother fucking worth it.

“Serve dinnerbackward, do anything- but for goodness sake, do something weird.”

-Elsa Maxwell

My life may be in shackles but it does not rule me. I can still be a hippie and a free love person and have a spiritual side, I feel that we create our own hells. I know I am writing this by caring what people have thought about me but the reading community has been my other saving grace and I don’t want to make people think I am CRAZY er and I want to be accepted and loved by this community like I was and I’m scared that being a progressive Christian has had an effect on that. I don’t know if I am making much sense but know I don’t want to go backwards and whatever time I have left the this Earth, I want to live it happily. I have been trying to get back into my groove regardless on all the medications I am on because I still got to believe that I am worth it and it’s not all my fault… I can forgive myself for everything and one day I will and I have faith that I will. Thank you for reading this and thank you for being part of my life, loves.💖

Notable Quote: Are you “living” your life or just living your life?

blurb-1677070230.png

Are you ‘living’ your life or just living your life?

Elsa Clairmont was widowed barely five years after marrying her childhood sweetheart. She has struggled to come to terms with the loss and, six years later, has almost ceased to live herself. She does just enough to get by.

Danny Delaney is the ultimate ‘Mr Nice Guy’. He’s kind, caring and sweet. A talented artist in his teens, his abusive mother ruined his love of art and he turned his back on his exceptional gift. Now, he does just enough to get by.

On New Year’s Eve, both Danny and Elsa die in unrelated accidents.

Thanks to some poker playing shenanigans, Elsa’s husband Harry, and Danny’s old Art teacher, William, manage to orchestrate a deal with Death that allows them both to live for one more year on the condition they both agree to complete three tasks.

They have until the last chime of Big Ben on the 31st December to complete their tasks.

If they succeed, they stay in the world of the living.

If they should fail however…

‘An Artisan Lovestyle’ is a story of personal growth and self-discovery as two people find themselves forced to make overdue changes in their lives, changes in other people’s lives and with the added challenge of finding true love before their time runs out.

Can they do it?

Will they do it?

After all, it’s a matter of Life or Death…

Book ReviewI was just blown away by this book! I loved how unique it was with the paranormal aspects and the adventures the characters endured. Man, all I wanted was more! As many may know because of my recent post, I have been experiencing a trauma. Well this story gave me the ability to escape from my current reality and have some fun. The characterization is fantastic and had a great plot.images (5)1880167471..jpg Even though this story was unique and filled with adventures that we probably could never face, I felt that I could relate to the characters and felt that reading this story made a fun new reality that I didn’t want to leave.

recommended-book1225591948.png

Even though this story is the second novel in the series, it definitely can be read as a standalone. I highly recommend this book and I am so glad I received the opportunity to read this Must Read!

An Artisan Lovestyle Head Shot Piccie

Kiltie grew up in Glasgow in Scotland. This is a very unique city with a very unique way of looking at life.

When she was old enough to do so, she moved to London and then,
after several years of obtaining interesting experiences -which are
finding their way into her writing – she moved up to the Midlands.

Kiltie currently lives in Staffordshire with five cats and one grumpy husband.
Her little home is known as Moggy Towers, even though despite having
plenty of moggies, there are no towers!

The cats kindly allow her and Mr Mogs to share their house on the
condition they keep paying the mortgage!

She loves reading, watching movies, and visiting old castles.
She really dislikes going to the gym!

Her biggest desire is that one day she can give up the day job
and write her stories for a living.

Kiltie’s debut novel, ‘A Rock ‘n’ Roll Lovestyle’, was released in September 2017 and won a “Chill With A Book – Reader Award” in December 2017.

She first began writing her debut novel eleven years before it was released but shelved
it as she didn’t think it was very good.

In November 2016 when, having read more on a best-selling author who had begun
her own career as a self-published author, she was inspired to revisit the unfinished manuscript and finally finish what she had started.

Since beginning to write again, the ideas have not stopped flowing.
‘An Artisan Lovestyle’ is the second book in the Lovestyle Series.

Work is due to begin on book three (not yet titled but also part of the Lovestyle Series)
in the Summer of 2018.

She currently has a further ten plots and ideas stored in her file (it’s costing a
fortune in USB drives as each story has its own memory stick!) and
the ideas still keep on coming.

Kiltie now lives her life around the following three quotes:
“I love having weird dreams, they’re great fodder for book plots!”
“Why wait for your ship to come in when you can swim out to meet it?”
“Old enough to know better, young enough not to care!”

I would like to thank the author & Rachel’s Random Resources for providing me with an eARC in exchange for an honest review. I am thankful for this opportunity to be part of this blog tour!😍📚

Summer at The Little Duck Pond Café by Rosie Green

Genre: Contemporary Romance / Romantic Comedy

Cover Reveal Date: 29th May 2018

Tour Dates: 5th – 14th July 2018

Publication Date: 18th June 2018

Second standalone novella of The Little Duck Pond Cafe series

Estimated Page Count – 130 ( approx 30, 000 words)

Blurb: Jaz Winters stuck a pin in a map and fled to the village of Sunnybrook, looking for a brand new life – and after a rocky start, it’s beginning to look as if she made the right decision. Her blossoming friendship with Ellie and Fen has seen her through some dark times, and she’s managed to land two jobs – waitress at The Little Duck Pond Café and working as a weekend tour guide at Brambleberry Manor, the country house that’s been in Fen’s family for generations.

Sure, life isn’t totally perfect. There’s the irritating know-it-all guy who keeps popping up on her manor tours, for a start. He seems determined to get under Jaz’s skin whether she likes it or not. But she supposes it’s a small price to pay for the relative peace she’s found, living in Sunnybrook.

But just as Jaz is beginning to think rosier times are on the horizon, a shock encounter looks set to shatter her fragile happiness.

Will she be forced to flee from Sunnybrook and everyone she’s grown so fond of? Or will she find the strength to stand her ground and finally face up to the nightmares of the past?

This novella is part of a trilogy:

Spring at The Little Duck Pond Café

Summer at The Little Duck Pond Café

Winter at The Little Duck Pond Café

Purchase from Amazon UK –

What, a super cute and cozy novella! My whole household has been sick and me and an another adult have pneumonia! Ugh😥🤒 Well, what does that have to do with this cute novella? Well, I can say I have been so out of it but the upside of being this sick was cuddling up in bed and reading this cozy of a read!😍 I thought it was short, sweet, fun and just what the doctor ordered! I can’t wait to check out the rest in the series! I definitely recommend this for a quick summer read that will give you just the right kind of feels!😍📚

About the author:

Rosie Green has been scribbling stories ever since she was little. Back then they were rip-roaring adventure tales with a young heroine in perilous danger of falling off a cliff or being tied up by ‘the baddies’. Thankfully, Rosie has moved on somewhat, and now much prefers to write romantic comedies that melt your heart and make you smile, with really not much perilous danger involved at all, unless you count the heroine losing her heart in love.

Rosie’s brand new series of novellas is centred on life in a village café. Summer at The Little Duck Pond Café, published on 18th June 2018, follows the first in the series, Spring at The Little Duck Pond Café.

Buddy Read Review With Jay Cudney: Aggravated Momentum by Didi Oviatt

img_20170705_091848

I would like to thank Jay Cudney for buddy reading this title with me! Not only was it such a great experience to read another fantastic book by one of my faves, Didi Oviatt, I am a huge fan of Jays so it’s like I got 2 for the price of a 1! You can never go wrong with either of these author’s novels and I strongly recommend them both! Everything I have read by them has been hands down 5 Stars. This novel was not an ARC and all views are my own.💙

Deadly thriller, twisted plot, shocking, and dark conspiracy hardly scratch the surface to define Aggravated Momentum. Not everything is as it seems in what appears to be an average family. When danger lurks so close to home, skeletons emerge, and the darkest of secrets surface, causing twisted desires to become reality. Aggravated Momentum offers the perspective of some very diverse and unique characters, including fun, witty personalities to fall in love with, along with an intellectual killer to die for. You may be surprised as to whom exactly you can relate. Is it the cold, calculated murderer, who’s name is yet to be revealed? Markie or Kam, the independent sisters, guilty of nothing more than getting tangled with the wrong people at the most inopportune times? Or, the cowardly snake curled in a hidden corner? Who are you, exactly? And, more importantly, who are they? The deeper you dig into the psyche of another, the more breath taking are the secrets you will find.

Wow!!! Didi Oviatt has done it again, she has made me feel a wave of emotions and held my attention from beginning to end! I was on the edge of my seat with this serial killer thriller(I like how that rhymes!) and I loved every moment of it! This novel took me on many twists and turns and wouldn’t let up until the last page and it still had my mind twisting and twirling with the story after the fact. My favorite thing about this novel though would be that I got to experience Didi’s greatness with the awesome author, Jay Cudney! I mean how much more can a girl fangirl than to read one of her favorite author’s books with one of her other favorite authors!!!💜💚💙 Swoony, Swoon, Swoon! I loved chatting with Jay and comparing insights about this novel and we both have Aggravated Momentum a “hands down 5 Stars!” You can find Jay’s review here! Yay!

So back to the book, I loved the characterization! Didi has a great way of portraying unique characters with realistic challenges! This book wasn’t filled with any Insta-love or any of that lovey dovey stuff, this was more of a novel of watching the f*ck out before your next! I was totally thrown off guard when we found out who the murderer of the story was. I was completely blindsided and man was the conclusion intense. By the end of story, I had no idea what was going to happen and then this major twist happens and I was left with my jaw hanging, like really? That’s how they were connected underneath the surface of family secrets and past dramas!😮 I have to admit though, I wanted to know more at the end maybe because I am just overly curious but I hear Didi is considering a sequel so that makes me extremely happy!💜 If you haven’t had the luxury to read this novel, I recommend you doing so ASAP!😀 Didi is also very connected with her readers and is quite awesome.😁 I can’t wait to see what she comes out with next!!!💙 I give Aggravated Momentum by Didi Oviatt 5+ stars and the same goes for her she deserves the stars and who shebang as well!😘🤩

Growing up in a small town had more than several advantages and disadvantages. Saying that my childhood was sheltered is nothing short of an understatement. Unlocked doors, cleared streets, and the quiet of a trustworthy neighborhood were all welcomed features of my hometown. As a small child I baked cookies with the old lady down the road. I sat next to my kindergarten crush in sun day school, and literally rode my bike in the middle of the road without a care in the world. We didn’t have what kids have today. We actually had to use our imaginations to have a good time. There were no smart phones, tablets, or 64s to keep us occupied. We were perfectly content to play with our stick guns and a water hose for hours on end… And I loved it! Along with my scrapes and bruises I also maintained a simple, happy for the little things attitude, and of course a great tan.
Now that I have made my childhood out to be nothing but cherries and smiles, I have to point out the disadvantages that came with the small town upbringing– before the world of electronics took over the young mind. One word distinctively comes to mind… Boredom! As I grew into adolescence I no longer cared much for silly toys, dancing, baking, or crafts. I rebelled like many young adults do.With a sever chip on my shoulder and a lack of coordination in the sports department, I spent the majority of my time partying. Nothing too outrageous, mostly close friends, fires, and beer.
As much as I would love to say that living in a small town gave me an overactive imagination and love for books, that is unfortunately not the case. I cared more about having a good time than I did about school. I was voted wild child twice in high school. I cheated my way to passing grades.
It wasn’t until I was settled and married with a child on the way that I found my love for the literary world. Rearing out of my mid twenties left me a bit more mature, having to find more important things to do with my time than re-occurring nights at the bar. This is when it started – I read one book after another for a few short years, then decided to give writing a bash. I’m completely amazed at the love I developed! Once I started putting the world of imagination that has long been trapped in my overactive mind into a keyboard, the transformation of self began. A new aspiration in life has formed. I want nothing more than to be known as the unexpected novelist who took the literary world by storm! You can connect with Didi on her WordPress blog @ didioviatt.wordpress.com

About Jay Cudney:

James is my given name; most call me Jay. I grew up on Long Island and currently live in New York City, but I’ve traveled all across the US (and various parts of the world). After college, I spent 15 years working in technology and business operations in the sports, entertainment and media industries. Although I enjoyed my job, I left in 2016 to focus on my passion: telling stories and connecting people through words. My debut novel is ‘Watching Glass Shatter,’ a contemporary fiction family drama with elements of mystery, suspense, humor and romance. To see samples or receive news from my current and upcoming books, please subscribe with your email address at my website: https://jamesjcudney.com
What do I do outside of writing: I’m an avid genealogist (discovered 2K family members going back about 250 years) and cook (I find it so hard to follow a recipe). I love to read; between Goodreads and my blog at https://thisismytruthnow.com, I have over 500 book reviews which will give you a full flavor for my voice and style. On my blog, I started the 365 Daily Challenge, where I post a word each day that has some meaning to me, then converse with everyone about life. There is humor, tears, love, friendship, advice and bloopers. Lots of bloopers where I poke fun at myself all the time. Even my dog has a weekly segment called “Ryder’s Rants” where he complains about me. All these things make up who I am; none of them are very fancy or magnanimous, but they are real and show how I live every day.
A bit of humor: Everything doubles as something else when you live in NYC. For me, it’s the dining room, my favorite space in the apartment, where more than just my cooking is on display! As I look out the windows onto a 12th floor terrace, various parts of nature (trees, bushes, flowers, bugs & animals) inspire me to write. Ryder, my 10-year old shiba inu, usually lays on my feet, growling when I shift positions too many times or when I forget to share my food! Although he’s only 20 pounds, he’s quite strong and pushy. But how else can you pen the best story possible without these things by your side?

Hope everyone has a great night and I hope to be bloggy hopping your way soon! I have a massive ARC reading and reviewing catch up ahead of me! *hides in shame* so hopefully there will be way more Dani now that technology is sort of back on my side! Wooohooo!❤ Anyways, thanks so much for checking out my review!😍💙❤

About the Book

John Lennon fought for world peace, but sixteen-year-old hippie hopeful Kale Oswald’s only made it as far as tie-dying his T-shirts with organic grape juice. Now he’s ready to cement his new hippie identity by joining a local human rights organization, but he doesn’t fit in as well as he’d hoped.

After landing himself in the hospital by washing down a Ziploc bag of pills with a bottle of Gatorade, Julian Mendez came clean to his mother: he is a girl stuck in a boy’s body. Puberty blockers have stopped the maturing of the body he feels has betrayed him. They’re also supposed to give him time to be sure he wants to make a more permanent decision, but he’s already Julia in his heart. What he’s not sure he’s ready to face is the post-transition name-calling and bathroom wars awaiting him at school.

When Kale and Julian come face-to-face at the human rights organization, attraction, teenage awkwardness, and reluctant empathy collide. They are forced to examine who they are and who they want to become. But until Kale can come to terms with his confusion about his own sexuality and Julian can be honest with Kale, they cannot move forward in friendship, or anything more.

My Thoughts_1

Wow, what a book! I am absolutely in love with this LGBT+ novel! I felt like I connected to the characters and the story line in so many different ways and felt a wave a different emotions from this story. This novel is everything you want when you buy a book! It’s filled with humor, real life situations, fun, drama, depth and more! As a woman who is pansexual and polyamorous, I face a lot of judgement. Many people don’t understand the concept of me being capable of loving someone of the same gender or loving multiple people with no jealousy at the same time. I am also that hippie/gypsy girl who is a free-spirit and is all about free love and you can catch me in a corner with my oracle and tarot cards daily. I know what it is like to stand out and I know what it’s like to fight a cause that is so much bigger than yourself. I highly recommend this book and will be sharing it and the love of it with everyone I know. “My Crunchy Life” totally deserves a ‘hands down’ five stars!

Mia Kerick is the mother of four exceptional children—a daughter in law school, another in dance school, a third studying at Mia’s alma mater, Boston College, and her lone son still in high school. She writes LGBTQ romance when not editing National Honor Society essays, offering opinions on college and law school applications, helping to create dance bios, and reviewing English papers. Her husband of twenty-four years has been told by many that he has the patience of Job, but don’t ask Mia about this, as it is a sensitive subject.
Mia focuses her stories on emotional growth in turbulent relationships. As she has a great affinity for the tortured hero, there is, at minimum, one in each book. As a teen, Mia filled spiral-bound notebooks with tales of said tortured heroes (most of whom happened to strongly resemble lead vocalists of 1980s big-hair bands) and stuffed them under her mattress for safekeeping. She is thankful to Dreamspinner Press and Harmony Ink Press for providing alternate places to stash her stories.

Her books have won a Best YA Lesbian Rainbow Award, a Reader Views’ Book by Book Publicity Literary Award, the Jack Eadon Award for Best Book in Contemporary Drama, an Indie Fab Award, and a Royal Dragonfly Award for Cultural Diversity, among other awards.

Mia is a Progressive, a little bit too obsessed by politics, and cheers for each and every victory in the name of human rights. Her only major regret: never having taken typing
or computer class in school, destining her to a life consumed with two-fingered pecking and constant prayer to the Gods of Technology.
