In the bright lights of the big city, she’ll find red-hot music—and red-hot love.

Fiery, free-loving Amber Fields has just discovered she’s the daughter of a 90s rock legend. Amber is determined to know more and heads to the bright lights of New York City, a world away from the hippie commune she’s grown up on in Maine.

She tracks down the band but answers seem hard to come by. And then there’s the new lead guitarist—troubled, sexy, intriguing Ty who is anything but welcoming.

Ty is not into commitment and Amber is not into the music yet, soon, sparks begin to fly. The more time they spend together, the hotter things get. They’re bound by music—could they also be bound by love?

To those who know me, I picked up this book for obvious reasons. I am a rocker chick and have a weakness for the rock n roll lifestyle! Not only was this rock n roll themed, it had unconventional families and the main character grew up on a hippie compound with three mothers.

So pretty much, this was the perfect read for me! I knew I would love this book based on the synopsis but what I didn’t know is that it would quickly climb to one of my top favorite romance novels ever! I was instantly captivated by the characters and their charm. I loved Amber and her free loving spirit! I could relate to her on so many levels and she had a heart of gold underneath her hurricane exterior. She and the other characters made this book hilarious!

Ty’s mysterious personality and his past that went along with it made me fall in love with him. #fictionhusband. I LOVED how DNA didn’t make a difference on who was family and not in this sweet story. I also loved that the supporting characters LOVED each other with no restrictions or jealousy.

There was not one bit of jealousy or grudges really in this novel and for me it really signified true love. It’s rare to come across a novel that suites my beliefs and is so non judgemental. I know, I know, I am a hippie with all the free love stuff but this novel was completely swoon worthy for me and made me feel right at home.

The plot was way more than a romance and what it might seem at first glance. When I went into reading this novel, I thought romance would be the sole focus but man was I wrong. This book depicts how hard it can be to just live and be yourself with the weight of responsibility and struggles weighing down on your shoulders. When reading this novel, I was touched by reading about how Amber went into a different culture and how she really made a difference. She lacked greed, resentment and even though she was tough, she had a heart of gold. This story was filled with romance, drama, family issues and lack of judgement of anyone’s life choices. If you are looking for something different or enjoy the love of a rock star I recommend you read this book. This is my first Elle Casey book but I can say without a doubt that “Ms. Casey, I’d follow you anywhere!” This book has Dani’s stamp approval!
