“I need a reason to exist.”

Beautiful, intelligent, independent, strong-willed, wealthy—Lilith Fontenot seems by all appearances, to have it all. But that’s not how the highest paid prostitute in New Orleans sees herself.

A stain on society. A scourge. A waste. Outsider. Prisoner…

Any idyllic dream of the normal life she may have once imagined, Lilith buried long ago. Her only plan now is survival.

But mob boss Nico Santelli and community center owner Soti Christos have not given up on Lilith. Each has his own very specific, very opposing, plans for her, and neither will rest until it becomes a reality.

WHORE is a singularly bracing take on an ancient tale of tireless love, betrayal, and the possibility of redemption.

I give this book 5 out of 5 Completely Blown Away Stars!!! Like holy crap, this book is not what it seems at all.

When you read the blurb and read the beginning of this book it seems like we are going to be swept away in a sweet romance that resembles “Pretty Woman”. You know how it goes, when the guy is in love with the prostitute but she has her guards up and eventually there is all that warm and fuzzy love. Well no, this book goes way beyond the realms of that and is uniquely designed! I could not stop reading this book and read it basically in one sitting. This book was not just a romance but more of a suspense that left you guessing and on edge. Heck at some points my skin was crawling and I had to lay in bed with the lights on to read it. This book even had a bit of mystery to it. Hell, it had it ALL!

I don’t want to give any details away but I am warning you that anyone who’s been in an abusive situation there may be a good bit of triggers for you in this book but it’s really hard to say. I was able to get through it and I have been in many abusive situations but have to admit it made my skin crawl and cringe. I just want to give that warning incase. Besides that for me it was completely worth it and was enthralled by the experience.

I have never read Willow Aster’s work before and now that I have, I will say to her that “I will follow you anywhere.” Whore was a chilling, suspenseful and blissfully romantic masterpiece. The plot was solid and well written. The characters were well described and I absolutely loved them. Soti is my new fictional husband!!!

I just loved the lack of jealousy and the unconditional love portrayed in this book. It really was beautiful. Lililth’s character is just amazing. She is stunning, beautiful, sexy and has no idea of her potential and worth.

She is also such a strong woman and seeing the depths of her soul was incredible.

You guys know I also like to bring my life experiences into my reviews to open up and relate, well this book opened my eyes in so many ways. I was involved in the escort business for years when I was younger. I’m a bit embarrassed to admit this. I was never a prostitute and I am definitely not judging anyone of course but I was in the management part I guess you can say and was an escort driver for many years. I served as protection to the girls and I dealt with the business transactions. I was sweet and caring to the girls I worked with. I still have contact with many of them and many of them were great friends. Unfortunately, I have had been involved in bad situations because of this and have seen my fair share of violence and brokeness. I am not proud of the things I have done but have learned from them to say the least. I don’t know if it was my experiences that made me in more awe of this book but this book really portrays how someone forced into this life lives and feels.

This book had me on an emotional rollercoaster and had me in tears at points but it made me realize a lot. Even if you didn’t think about the prostitution part if you just look at the inner battles that the main characters face, it was beyond intense! Lilith and Soti both battle these insecurites and inner demons that are so realistic and raw that you can’t help but evaluate your own feelings. I was personally blown away by this romantic suspense and can’t wait to check out the author’s other works!!! This book is highly Dani-approved and recommended!

  2. Wow, this book definitely sounds really good! 😀 It’s always a pleasant surprise to find a book so much more than you’d expected it to be, and I guess this one certainly was one of those. I love your reviews for the honest opinions you give all the while connecting the story to yourself as a reader. Often at times, a reader connects to the story more for their real life experiences that are reflected in the story and I don’t think there can be anything more amazing than this. Loved the review, Dani! ❤

  5. Seriously Dani, your reviews are getting better and better. I really loved this one, and it sounds like an amazing read. As I have told you quite a few times, there is nothing to be embarassed about at all. Sharing something this personal takes enormous guts, not everybody can do that. But you have an inner fire and strength inside of you that blows everyone apart. And it is something to be proud of. Your past is a part of you, and the things you wrote about in this post, only goes to show you have been through so much. But despite all that, here you are showing love to each and everyone of your readers, and bringing brightness every day. That Dani, is who you are: one hell of an amazing woman, and I’m sure everyone who reads your blog totally agrees with this.
I’m adding this book to my list for sure. Amazing review and the gifs were both funny and very sexy 😊
Keep believing in your self you amazing girl! You are awesome and never let anyone ever tell you otherwise 😊😘❤️

  7. By sharing your own story alongside the review, you bring understanding and depth to a book I might just otherwise write-off as yet more exploitative fiction. Well done!
But those names! Lilith Fontenot, Soti Christos. Are people really called such things? 🙂 🙂 x
    Best wishes, Pete. x

    1. I’m glad I was able to portray it better by sharing my own story!😊 About the names LOL. Soti I think it’s not that uncommon for certain nationalities especially in the States I have heard it a few times and Lilith is not uncommon here like the main character, most people go by the name Lili.☺😘xoxo

  10. Wow, Dani. Phenomenal review. I’m glad to hear it was more than just the typical romance in this one. But the personal story you shared? Wow. My field of study is in criminology and I even did an internship at the police headquarters to write up a prostitution diagnosis of a neighbourhood. I have heard the stories of some people who were escort drivers and the things they witness can be quite shocking. Thanks for sharing your story and I’m glad to hear that you were an angel for those who needed it. 😉

    1. I have definitely seen some horrible things as an escort driver Lashaan and some crazy ass people. Geez… I think it was worse when I was a Madame at times though. I may not have been the muscle at the time but the propositions and the sick requests. I have dealt with clients that have hurt my girls and I had to order my muscle and drivers after them and they kept it up so I had to take a 357 to him and scare the shit out of him to get the point across that he will not be allowed around my girls or around my business at the time. I did things thatI regret now but in that business
