Claire Washburn, Chief Medical Examiner thinks it’s going to be a busy night at the morgue when two bodies show up at the morgue but she is even more surprised when only one of them is dead! Since Lindsay Boxer is away on a much needed vacation with her husband Joe, Rich Conklin takes on the case of millionaress that returns from the dead was found in a hotel left for dead with her lover(not her husband) dead on top of her. This book ends up being more surprising by the minute as Detective Conklin and the rest of the Women’s Murder Club try to find the murderer.
This book was more 3.5 out of 5 stars. I have enjoyed and read all of the Women’s Murder Club books and have enjoyed them thoroughly. I usually like reading these bookshots when I am looking for something quick to read. I felt this book had potentially to be a great story but because it was 100-150 pages long it lacked in sustenance. If you are reading all the Women’s Murder Club books it won’t hurt if you miss this these novellas in between. Can’t wait until the next adventure with the Women’s Murder Club!
I’ve given up for the most part on James Patterson. I loved his Alex Cross series, although I’ve stopped reading even those for the last few years. In my humble opinion, he’s decided to put quantity over quality. So many books with so many co-authors. It’s a little crazy! And I feel terrible for feeling like this because he seems like a genuinely nice guy who’s put a lot of his own money into literacy groups. *Sigh* Anyway, I love your review Ms Dani. Very fair and honest!😊

I can understand where your coming from with reading his books I feel like its more of the co author’s work than his. I have noticed reading his earlier books in this series and others that things have changed quite a bit. I do enjoy the short chapters sometimes but I definiteley see where you are coming from Kim! I was definitley dissappointed compared to his earlier books😓 Thanks for the feedback sister!🤗

I’m especially upset about the Alex Cross series because that was one of my favorites. But, I do know what you mean about them being quick reads because of the short chapters.

Yes his early Alex Cross was the best I want to re-read those. I think James Patterson had the talent but he kind of sold out. I guess I feel like I want to see where the story ends though and it just keeps going and going. But I love Alex Cross’s character as well!
I hope you’re having a good day this weather has me feeling horrible but luckily didnt have to evacuate! So all that Walmart and gas station shit was for nothing. Smh…

I actually caved and borrowed his newest book, The Store, on Overdrive. I’m purposely not reading any reviews, so we’ll see.
I’m glad you didn’t have to evacuate Dani. And I know how horrible the trip to Wal-Mart was, but at least nothing will go to waste. And, you got to write a hilarious post about it! I’m trying to be positive.😏
Are you still enjoying Charley?

His series are written by different writers (he doesn’t actually write himself anymore but only does editing) so I can understand that you could love one novel and not like another… I hope the next one will be better !

Thanks for the feedback! I can definitely see how most of the work is coming from the co authors. I think the only one he writes solo now is the Alex Cross series.
